Just because we're so busy cooking a ham and baking a cake, Global will enter the new year with a list of not resolutions, but of mergers in the twelve days of Christmas, actually in the last half of the month of December.

If you're considering a merger in the coming year, you might be interested in oil, communications, banking, or insurance. These seem to be popular areas for the merger-minded. In surprising news (is there any such thing?) the last Communist super-state, China, officially blessed a merger between two power companies.
